we found Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0 to be excellent at detecting and removing viruses. It has the Virus Bulletin 100% award, as well as Computer Shopper's Best Buy award and it's plain to see why. The software allows advanced users to fully configure the system but is also ideal for novice users with many pre-set functions and a quick scan button. The virus definition updates are delivered hourly, which is far more often than many other products we reviewed, affording you excellent protection from the latest threats. The installation can be a little tricky for novice users but if you follow all the instructions then you should get through it ok...

This is another cheap, affordable product from PAL. The software is quite light and basic (only a virus checker is included) but it is very cheap and runs quickly without slowing down your computer. This is a very basic option, that you may want to consider if you're just looking for a virus checker at an affordable price and nothing else. This virus checker is currently retailing at half-price by the vendor. Recommended by PC Format and PC World, PAL Emergency Response is the cheapest antivirus product in our top 10...
